H. Notice of Completion for the Briggeman Drive Street Improvements\nProject (CIP 22/23-03) (Development Services)\nThe City of Los Alamitos hired a roadway contractor, United Paving Co.,\nfor the Briggeman Drive Street Improvements Project (CIP 22/23-03) as\npart of the City’s ongoing pavement management program. The project\nprovided 5 feet of widening along the southern portion of Briggeman Drive,\nfrom the Briggeman Drive/Reagan Street intersection to 200 feet west of\nthe intersection. This project was necessary to continue the widening that\npreviously occurred adjacent to the newly developed hotel (Fairfield Inn &\nSuites by Marriott Anaheim/Los Alamitos) at 10650 Los Alamitos\nBoulevard.\nStaff is recommending that City Council accept the work as completed,\ndirect filing of the Notice of Completion, and authorize retention release as\nprescribed by the Public Contract Code.\nRecommendation:\n1. Accept as complete the construction by United Paving Co. for the\nBriggeman Drive Street Improvements Project (CIP 22/23-03); and,\n2. Direct the City Clerk to record the Notice of Completion/Final Report\nwith the County Recorder’s Office; and,\n3. Authorize Staff to release the 5% retention to the contractor, in the\namount of $7,517.87, thirty-five (35) days after recordation of the\nNotice of Completion.
