15. AWARD CONTRACT: REPLACEMENT OF ALHAMBRA POOLS MECHANICAL\nEQUIPMENT – F2M23-31, N2M23-32, C2M23-69, M2M23-145\nOn March 13, 2023, the City Council authorized the circulation of a Request for Notice\nInviting Bids (N2M23-32) for the Replacement of Alhambra Pools Mechanical Equipment.\nOn March 22, 2023, staff held a job walk and four pool contractors attended. On March\n30, 2023, bids were due; however, no bids were received by the City Clerk by the\nadvertised date and time. In accordance with Article XIX, Section 135 of the City’s Charter,\n8\n8-28-23\nstaff contacted a pool mechanical contractor to obtain a proposal to complete the project.\nA proposal was submitted by AquaSource Commercial Pool Systems in the amount of\n$971,894. The City works with Aquasource on maintenance and repairs of our pool\nequipment and has for many years, therefore, staff recommends awarding this project to\nAquasource Commercial Pool Systems.\nRecommended Action: City Council award a contract, subject to final language\napproval by the City Manager and the City Attorney, by and between the City of Alhambra\nand AquaSource Commercial Pool Systems for the Replacement of Pool Mechanical\nEquipment for Alhambra and Granada Park Pools in an amount not to exceed $971,894;\nfind the Project categorically exempt from California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA)\npursuant to CEQA Guidelines Section 15301: Existing Facilities – Class 1; and, direct staff\nto undertake the steps necessary to finalize the Council’s action.
