7. ACCEPT GRANT: CALIFORNIA GOVERNOR’S OFFICE OF EMERGENCY SERVICES\nUNDER THE LISTOS CALIFORNIA CERT SUPPORT GRANT PROGRAM – F2M23-18,\nM2M23-139\nThe Listos California CERT Support Grant Program provides funding to support projects\nthat help prepare vulnerable and underserved populations including providing Community\nEmergency Response Team (CERT) training in languages other than English and building\ncapacity to respond to disasters. Staff applied to the grant program and was awarded\n$25,000 for the Alhambra Fire Department to expand CERT to reach the City’s large\nChinese population. The funds will be used for CERT training, outreach and resources in\nMandarin. The grant performance period is June 1, 2023 through December 31, 2024.\nRecommended Action: City Council accept a grant in the amount of $25,000 from\nthe California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES) under the Listos\nCalifornia Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Support Grant Program;\nappropriate revenue and expenditure funds; authorize the City Manager, or designee, to\nexecute all documents related to grant implementation; and, direct staff to undertake the\nsteps necessary to finalize Council’s action.
