5. ACCEPT GRANT: CALIFORNIA STATE LIBRARY FOR ZIPBOOKS BOOK DELIVERY\nAND APPROPRIATE FUNDS – F2M23-18, M2M23-137\nThe Library applied for a received a $5,171 grant from the California State Library to\ncontinue the purchasing of physical print and audio books to meet unique patron requests\nand to support book delivery services to home or facility bound Alhambra residents. This\n4\n8-28-23\nprogram aims to meet immediate patron requests of items the Library does not currently\nown and will enhance access for community members who have limited ability to access\nthe Library’s physical building and its collection.\nRecommended Action: City Council accept $5,171 from the California State Library\nfor the Zipbooks program; appropriate revenue and expenditure funds in the amount of\n$5,171; authorize the City Manager or designee to sign the grant agreement, subject to\nfinal language approval by the City Manager and City Attorney, with the California State\nLibrary; and, direct staff to undertake the steps necessary to finalize Council’s action.\n(M2M23-137)
