17. APPROVE AN APPROPRIATION TRANSFER FOR A TEMPORARY PAW-PUP DOG\nPARK AT THE NORTHEAST PORTION OF THE ALMANSOR/CORTO UPPER\nPARKING LOT – F2M11-36, F2M18-35, M2M23-147\nAt the July 25, 2022, City Council Meeting, to address Strategic Plan Item No. 9, staff\nidentified four site locations for a potential dog park. Following Council discussions, staff\nreceived direction to pursue a dog park location at Almansor/Corto St. Staff is requesting\nan appropriation transfer of $48,998.50 to erect a temporary dog park to further assess\nthe need and level of use for a dog park under a two-month study cycle. The Paw-Pup\nDog Park will operate from dawn to dusk from September 5, 2023 through November 5,\n2023. The Paw-Pup Dog Park will be funded with reallocated ARPA funds from a project\nthat has not been initiated. This request does not impact the funding currently available\nunder ARPA for the permanent dog park.\n9\n8-28-23\nRecommended Action: City Council approve an appropriation transfer not to exceed\n$48,998.50 for a temporary Paw-Pup Dog Park and authorize the Finance Director to\namend the ARPA budget; and direct staff to undertake the steps necessary to finalize\nCouncil’s action.
