F. AWARD OF CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT NO. 23-11 IN THE AMOUNT OF\n$32,000 PLUS A 10% CONTINGENCY TO MEDINA BRAVO\nCONSTRUCTION, INCORPORATED FOR THE INSTALLATION OF EIGHT\nNEW RAMPS AT TWO CITY INTERSECTIONS\nThe Field Operations Division within the Public Works Department is\nresponsible for the maintenance of all sidewalks and Americans with\nDisabilities Act (ADA) ramps at City Intersections. ADA ramps provide a\nsmooth and safe path of travel from the sidewalk to the street for people with\ndisabilities. Due to recent staffing shortages, and a growing backlog of\nsidewalk maintenance requests, staff is seeking assistance from outside\ncontractors for the installation of ADA ramps. The total cost for the project is\n$32,000, plus a 10% contingency.\nCalifornia Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) Determination: Categorically\nexempt per Section 15303 of the state CEQA guideline regarding New\nConstruction or conversion of small structures.\nRecommended Action:\nStaff recommends that the City Council:\n1. Authorize the City Manager to execute Contract No. 23-11 for $32,000;\nand\n2. Approve a Purchase Order with Medina Bravo Construction, Incorporated\nin an amount Not to exceed $32,000 which includes 10% contingency\nusing the Transportation Development Act Article 3 fund account 122-\n800-44-96-604.
