CONSIDERATION AND APPROVAL OF RESOLUTION NO. 23-11,\nPROCLAIMING A LOCAL EMERGENCY PERSISTS AND\nAUTHORIZING THE USE OF REMOTE TELECONFERENCE MEETING\nPROCEDURES BY THE CITY'S LEGISLATIVE BODIES AS\nAUTHORIZED BY GOVERNMENT CODE SECTION 54953(e) ET SEQ.\nFOR THE PERIOD OF JANUARY 24, 2023 THROUGH FEBRUARY 15,\n2023\nOn September 16, 2021, Governor Newsom signed AB 361 into law. AB\n361 was made effective October 1, 2021. Pursuant to AB 361, staff\nrecommends consideration of Resolution No. 23-11 proclaiming a local\nemergency persists and authorizing the use of remote meeting procedures\nby the City’s legislative bodies, which can include meetings held via a\nvirtual platform (e.g. Zoom), for the period of January 24, 2023 through\nFebruary 15, 2023.\nRECOMMENDED ACTION: Staff recommends City Council adopt\nResolution No. 23-11, proclaiming a local emergency persists and\nauthorizing the use of alternative meeting procedures by the City’s\nlegislative bodies, such as utilizing a virtual platform (e.g. Zoom) for the\nperiod from January 24, 2023 through February 15, 2023.\nCONSENT CALENDAR (CONTINUED)
