7.7 APPROVING AN AMENDMENT TO THE JOINT POWERS AGREEMENT WITH THE\nLOS ANGELES REGIONAL AGENCY\nComments:\nThe City is currently a member of the Los Angeles Regional Agency, a consortium of\neighteen cities in Southern California that combine efforts to meet waste reduction\nmandates set by State Assembly Bill 939. New legislation related to organic waste\nreduction laws requires that the City's existing Joint Powers agreement be amended and\nupdated. Staff is requesting that City Council approve the updated agreement.\nRecommendation:\nStaff recommends that the City Council adopt the attached resolution entitled: “A\nRESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD APPROVING AN\nAMENDMENT TO THE JOINT POWERS AGREEMENT WITH THE LOS ANGELES\nREGIONAL AGENCY ”.
