7.6\nREQUEST FOR FUNDING AND ACCEPTANCE FOR THE BURKE HAM PARK\nPLAYGROUND CIP PROJECT\nComments:\nThe Burke Ham Park Playground Project consisted of new playground improvements and\nnew park improvements. The project began on February 2021 but was delayed due to the\ncontractor’s delays and performance issues. The project was taken over by the\ncontractor’s insurance company “Surety” and the replacement contractor TBH\nconstruction. The project has been complete. However, due to issues related to\ntransferring the contract and the project not being carried forward, remaining balances\nowed can not be paid. Staff is requesting City Council to approve additional funding to\nfinish paying the remaining balances and accept the Burke Ham Park Playground Project.\nRecommendation:\nStaff recommends that the City Council adopt the attached resolution entitled: “A\nRESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD APPROVING A\nREQUEST FOR FUNDING FOR THE BURKE HAM PARK PLAYGROUND FOR\nPROJECT CLOSEOUT AND ACCEPTING THE PROJECT AS COMPLETE;\nAUTHORIZING THE FILING OF THE NOTICE OF COMPLETION WITH THE LOS\nANGELES COUNTY RECORDER’S OFFICE AND THE RELEASE OF THE 5%\nRETENTION 35 DAYS AFTER THE ACCEPTANCE”.\n4
