7. ESTABLISHMENT OF FUND FOR MONSANTO PCB SETTLEMENT - The City previously\nreceived, and the City Council approved, a settlement payment from the class action case City\nof Long Beach, et al. v. Monsanto Company, et al., United States District Court for the Central\nDistrict of California, Western Division, Case No. 2:16-cv-03493-FMO-AS in the amount of\n$576,108.00.\nRECOMMENDATION: That the City Council direct staff to deposit funds within the PCB\nMitigation Fund and commit the settlement proceeds so that principal and interest earnings can\nbe used to offset the costs of monitoring for PCBs as required by the City’s National Pollutant\nDischarge Elimination System (NPDES) and Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4)\npermits and related requirements, including mitigation.\nPUBLIC HEARINGS
