H. APPROPRIATION REQUEST FOR CONTRACT BUILDING OFFICIAL\nTEMPORARY BUILDING SERVICES\nDue to a temporary staffing shortage, the City is in need of additional building\nservices to maintain an uninterrupted level of service in the Building Division.\nIn August of this year, an emergency agreement was executed to onboard a\ncontract Building Official. To date, the contract Building Official has been\nworking with staff and project teams to see that construction and permits\nmove forward. To maintain our level of service, the Department is requesting\nadditional funding to maintain the temporary building services through this\nyear. Funding for the services will be from the General Contractual Services\nFund (121-810-16-22-000) in the amount of $40,000.\nCalifornia Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) Determination: Not a Project as\ndefined in Section 15378 of the State CEQA Guidelines.\nRecommended Action:\nStaff recommends that the City Council:\n1) Adopt Resolution No. 23-56, increasing appropriations by $40,000 in the\ngeneral fund for the costs of temporary building official services.\n2) Authorize the City Manager, or designee, to execute an agreement with\nVCA Code Group to provide building official services.
