a) REPORT AWARD OF CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT FOR CIP 102 BUS STOP\n23-0486 IMPROVEMENTS AND CIP 193 PEDESTRIAN CROSSING SAFETY\nIMPROVEMENTS─PHASE I RRFB INSTALLATIONS\n(Public Works Director Joe SanClemente)\nRecommendation: Staff recommends City Council:\n1. Award a construction contract for CIP 102 Bus Stop Improvements and CIP 193\nPedestrian Crossing Safety Improvements-Phase 1 Rectangular Rapid-Flashing Beacon\n(RRFB) Installation to Sterndahl Enterprises, LLC, in the amount of $405,880\n(Attachment 4);\n2. Authorize the Director of Public Works to establish a 20 percent project contingency\namount of $81,176 and approve contract change orders up to the amount of the approved\ncontract contingency;\n3. Adopt the attached resolution entitled "A Resolution of the City Council of the City of\nHermosa Beach Approving the Construction of CIP 102 Bus Stop Improvements and CIP\n193 Pedestrian Crossing Safety Improvements-Phase 1 RRFB Installation Pursuant to\nGovernment Code Section 830.6 and Establishing a Project Payment Account"\n(Attachment 5);\n4. Authorize the Mayor to execute the construction contract and the City Clerk to attest,\nsubject to approval by the City Attorney; and\n5. Authorize the Director of Public Works to file a Notice of Completion following final\ncompletion of the project.
