9.a. CONSIDERATION AND APPROVAL OF RESOLUTION NO. 23-93,\nAPPROVING A MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT (MOA) BETWEEN\nTHE CITY OF SOUTH EL MONTE AND U.S. ARMY CORPS OF\nENGINEERS, LOS ANGELES DISTRICT FOR PROPOSED\nDEVELOPMENT OF PROPERTY LOCATED AT 825 LEXINGTON-\nGALLATIN ROAD ("PROPERTY")\nThe U.S. Army Corps is considering the development of an approximate\n21-acre vacant property. The property includes developing approximately\nten acres (10.22) with an approximate 223,000 square foot industrial\nbuilding, and dedicating approximately eleven (10.92) acres, with limited\nsite preparation, to the City of South El Monte for future recreational uses,\nto be owned, managed and operated by the City of South El Monte as a\npublic open space. Both sites will be designed to accommodate detention\nbasin improvements.\nRECOMMENDED ACTION: Staff recommends City Council:\n1. Adopt Resolution No. 23-93, approving the MOA with U.S. Army Corps\nof Engineers, Los Angeles District for a proposed development\napproval process of property located at 825 Lexington-Gallatin Road\n("Property"); and\n2. Authorize the City Manager or designee to negotiate and execute the\nMOA.\nGENERAL BUSINESS (CONTINUED)
