7. ACCEPT GRANT: SAN GABRIEL VALLEY COUNCIL OF GOVERNMENTS (SGVCOG)\nFOR HOMELESS SERVICES – F2M23-18, M2M23-175\nThe SGVCOG entered into a contract with the County of Los Angeles for Measure H\nfunding for homeless services in support of the County’s Homeless Initiative (HI) strategies\nto combat homelessness in the San Gabriel Valley. The SGVCOG Board allocated\n$30,000 from Measure H funds to support Alhambra’s needs, including supplementing\nexisting homelessness programs, outreach and services for hard-to-reach populations.\nThe City and SGVCOG have set the terms of ongoing collaboration with respect to\naddressing homelessness in a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA). The term of this MOA\nis through June 30, 2024, and it may be extended by mutual agreement of both parties by\nway of an amendment to the MOA.\nRecommended Action: City Council authorize staff to accept the San Gabriel Valley\nCouncil of Governments (SGVCOG) grant in the amount of $30,000 for homeless\noutreach, housing navigator and case management services and emergency\nhousing/shelter placement; authorize the City Manager to sign the Memorandum of\nAgreement (MOA); appropriate the grant revenue and expenditure funds in the amount of\n$30,000; and, direct staff to undertake the steps necessary to finalize the Council’s action.\n(M2M23-175)
