10. ACCEPT GRANT: STATE OF CALIFORNIA GOVERNOR’S OFFICE OF EMERGENCY\nSERVICES AND THE FEDERAL EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AGENCY UNDER\nHAZARD MITIGATION GRANT PROGRAM – F2M23-18, M2M23-177\nStaff requests that the City Council City Council accept a grant in the amount of $135,450\nfrom the State of California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES) and the\nFederal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) under the Hazard Mitigation Grant\nProgram and approve a related Designation of Applicant’s Agent Resolution. The grant\nfunding will be used to create a Local Hazard Mitigation Plan which is a comprehensive,\nlong-term plan developed before a disaster occurs to identify local policies and actions\nthat can be implemented to reduce risk and future losses from hazards.\nRecommended Action: City Council accept a grant in the amount of $135,450 from\nthe State of California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES) and the\nFederal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) under the Hazard Mitigation Grant\nProgram; approve the Designation of Applicant’s Agent Resolution as outlined in the\nOctober 9, 2023 joint report of the Assistant City Manager, Fire Chief and Grants\nSpecialist; appropriate revenue and expenditure funds; authorize the City Manager, or\ndesignee, to execute all documents related to grant implementation; and, direct staff to\nundertake the steps necessary to finalize Council’s action.
