8. ACCEPTANCE OF GRANT FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND\nSECURITY’S OPERATION STONEGARDEN PROGRAM\nRecommendations:\n(1) Authorize the City Manager to accept a $128,500 grant from the Department of\nHomeland Security’s Grant Program, Operation Stonegarden (OPSG); and\n(2) Appropriate $128,500 with a matching increase in estimated grant revenue to fund\novertime salaries and the purchase of equipment and supplies to assist the Laguna\nBeach Police Department in providing coastline patrols in an effort to reduce maritime\nnarcotic smuggling, human trafficking, and other related crimes.\nStaff Report\nREGULAR ORDER\nThe Regular Order of Business section of the Agenda is designed for items that will require separate\ndiscussion and citizen input before the City Council makes a determination of the items.
