G. POLICE DEPARTMENT PURCHASE OF NEW POLICE MOTORCYCLE IN THE\nAMOUNT OF $39,125.47\nOne of the frontline police motorcycles has over 135,000 miles of use. It is\nbeing operated far beyond the normal service life and is exhibiting significant\nmechanical issues. The Police Department has budgeted to replace a 2018\nBMW motorcycle in this Fiscal Year (FY) 2023-2024. The Police Department\nhas budgeted approximately $40,000 for the purchase of a new Police\nMotorcycle. The quote provided by Long Beach BMW Motorcycle reflects the\nbest possible price for a fully-outfitted 2024 BMW RT1250. The current quote\nreflects the total price including tax as well as the motorcycle helmet and\nradio installation for a price of $39,125.47.\nCalifornia Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) Determination: Not a Project as\ndefined in Section 15378 of the State CEQA Guidelines.\nRecommended Action:\nStaff recommends that the City Council authorize the Chief of Police to utilize\n“piggyback” pricing from Los Angeles County Sheriff’s contract #PO-SH-\n23008318-1 for the purchase of one 2024 BMW RT1250 at a cost of\n$39,125.47 from Long Beach BMW Motorcycles utilizing capital outlay funds\nfrom account #124-751-37-99-201.
