I. 2020 STATE HOMELAND SECURITY PROGRAM – PART 2 GRANT\nACCEPTANCE AND EXPENDITURE AUTHORIZATION IN THE AMOUNT OF\n$14,447\nThe City of San Gabriel has been awarded and accepted grant funds from the\n2020 State Homeland Security Program (SHSP) for Fire Departments in the\namount of $62,000. The Fire Departments has been able to use these funds\ntowards projects from the Department of Homeland Security Approved\nEquipment List. An additional amount of $14,447 was granted this year, which\ncould be used to complete purchasing and issuance of protective equipment\nfor Fire Department personnel.\nCalifornia Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) Determination: Not a Project as\ndefined in Section 15378 of the State CEQA Guidelines.\nRecommended Action:\nStaff recommends that the City Council adopt Resolution No. 23-65\nauthorizing the following:\n1. Increase estimated revenue (account 186-3215) and appropriation\n(transfers out) in “other Grants” Fund by $14,447; and increase estimated\nrevenue (transfers in) and appropriation in Capital/Special Projects Funds\n(account #124-761-57-99-380) by $14,447.\n2. Authorize the Fire Chief to use the additional SHSP grant money, in the\namount of $14,447 to purchase qualifying equipment under the City’s\npurchasing policy.
