5. FY2022 URBAN AREA SECURITY INITIATIVE\n(UASI) GRANT The City of Anaheim, in its capacity\nas a Core City for the Anaheim/Santa Ana Urban\nArea, applied for, received and accepted a grant\nentitled "FY 2022 Urban Areas Security Initiative"\n(UASI) Grant Program in the amount of $5,056,750.\nThis grant is from the Federal Department of\nHomeland Security, Federal Emergency\nManagement Agency, through the State of California\nOffice of Emergency Services. It is intended to\nenhance countywide emergency preparedness, and\nto help the Operational Area prevent, respond to,\nand recover from acts of terrorism, as set forth in\nthe grant guidelines and assurances that are\nincorporated into the Agreement by reference. The\ngrant period for sub-recipients (City of Tustin) is\nAugust 9, 2023 to March 31, 2025. The funds are\nnow available for distribution throughout the\nOperational Area, and the City of Tustin, as a Sub-\nRecipient, is authorized to participate in the grant\nfunding and grant activities, including regional\ntraining and exercises coordinated by the\nAnaheim/Santa Ana Urban Area.\nRecommendation: It is recommended that the City\nCouncil: 1. Adopt Resolution 23-48, designating the\nChief of Police or his designee as the City's\nauthorized representative for the FY 2022 UASI\ngrant. 2. Approve the FY 2022 UASI Transfer\nAgreement between the City of Anaheim and the\nCity of Tustin.
