9. ALLOCATE FUNDING FOR THE ENTERPRISE\nRESOURCE PLANNING (ERP) SYSTEM\nREPLACEMENT PROJECT The City’s 2018-2023\nStrategic Plan outlined several strategies that were\ndirectly related to an enterprise resource planning\n(ERP) system replacement plan. They included\nplans to evaluate and acquire new utility billing (US)\nsoftware as well as to improve and update\ntechnology for better efficiency and customer\nservices. Staff and the City’s ERP consultants, SDI\nPresence LLC (SDI), completed an ERP system\nneeds assessment study. The study identified many\nshortcomings in the current ERP system, including\nits UB module. It also summarized specific\nfunctional requirements that the City needs to\nstreamline its operations to become more efficient.\nThe next step is to conduct a formal procurement\nprocess to secure a suitable ERP solution.\nRecommendation: Allocate $2.5 million from the\nGeneral Fund's reserves for the ERP system\nreplacement project and transfer this amount to the\nIT fund.MATTERS WHICH COUNCIL MEMBERS\nHAVE ASKED TO BE PLACED ON A FUTURE\nAGENDA No agenda report has been prepared by\nstaff Pursuant to Resolution No. 21-105, if any three\n(3) members of the Council approve a motion to\nagendize any of the following items for a future\nmeeting, the City Manager will initiate preparation of\nan appropriate agenda report and evaluate the\ntentative dates for the requested item to be placed\non the agenda for discussion and consideration by\nthe City Council. An aye vote will direct staff to\nprepare an agenda report for Council discussion\nand consideration at a future meeting date to be\ndetermined by the City Manager. A nay vote will\nresult in no further action taken and the item may\nnot be requested by either of the requesting\nmembers of the Council again earlier than six\nmonths after the Council last considered the\nrequest.
