AWARD OF CONTRACT WITH MERCHANTS BUILDING MAINTENANCE,\nLLC/CALIFORNIA FOR CUSTODIAL MAINTENANCE SERVICES; AND\nAPPROVAL OF A PURCHASE ORDER FOR FISCAL YEAR 2023/24 IN THE\nNOT-TO-EXCEED AMOUNT OF $2,799,165; AND\nAPPROVAL OF A ONE-TIME APPROPRIATION OF $271,330 FROM THE\nCAPITAL ASSETS FUND AND $647,130 FROM THE PARKING ENTERPRISE\nFUND FOR FISCAL YEAR 2023/24; AND\nAUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO APPROVE CHANGE PURCHASE\nORDERS IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED THE TOTAL VALUE OF THE\nAGREEMENT FOR THE FOUR AND A HALF YEAR TERM.\nComment: Staff recommends City Council (1) award the contract to Merchants\nBuilding Maintenance, LLC/California for custodial maintenance services, (2)\napprove a purchase order for Fiscal Year 2023/24 in the not-to-exceed amount of\n$2,799,165, (3) approve a one-time appropriation from the Capital Assets Fund in\nthe amount of $271,330 and from the Parking Enterprise Fund in the amount of\n$647,130 for Fiscal Year 2023/24, and (4) authorize the City Manager to approve\nchange purchase orders in an amount not to exceed the total value of the\nagreement for the four and a half year term. Requests for ongoing appropriations\nwill be brought forward as part of the annual budget process for Fiscal Year\n2024/25.
