10.2 RESOLUTION APPROVING A PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT FOR\nPRIVATE SECURITY SERVICES FOR CITY PARKS AND FACILITIES\nComments:\nIn October of 2022, the City entered into an agreement with Good Guard Security, Inc., to\nbe the City’s security services provider. The agreement’s initial term is for one (1) year,\nexpiring on October 24, 2023. Staff is requesting authority to allow the current contract to\nexpire and for staff to execute a restricted agreement with a new security provider. The\nrecommended action will ensure the City is able to continue to provide security services\nfor its parks and facilities with limited interruptions. (REC)\nRecommendation:\nStaff recommends that the City Council take the following actions:\n1. Authorize staff not to exercise the Year #2 security services contract extension option\nwith Good Guard Security, approving of expiration of the Agreement, effective October\n24, 2023.\n2. Adopt the attached resolution, entitled “A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF\nTHE CITY OF LYNWOOD AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A SIX-\nMONTH AGREEMENT WITH PROFESSIONAL SECURITY CONSULTANTS IN THE\nAMOUNT NOT-TO-EXCEED $200,000.”
