13. REQUEST FUNDS TO PURCHASE VEHICLES FOR THE POLICE DEPARTMENT\n5\nThe Bell Gardens Police Department assessed their vehicle fleet to keep the Police Department’s\noperations at peak efficiency and readiness. The assessment revealed that numerous vehicles are\nover 10-years-old with most of them operating with approximately 80,000 to 100,000 miles.\nTherefore, the Police Department is requesting funding to replace these vehicles.\nRecommendation:\nIt is staff's recommendation that the City Council:\n1. Authorize the City Manager to execute a procurement agreement with 72 Hour LLC dba :\nNational Auto Fleet Group, subject to City Attorney approval as to form, for 24 vehicles for a\nnot to exceed amount of $1.5 million for FY 2023-24 and FY 2024-25; and\n2. Appropriate $1.5 million from the general fund to the Police Department’s budget for FY\n2023-24 and FY 2024-25.
