6. AUTHORIZE A CONTRACT AWARD FOR SECURITY GUARD SERVICES FOR CALTRANS\nPROPERTIES WITH AMERICAN GLOBAL SECURITY INC., FOR AN AMOUNT NOT-TO-EXCEED $237,500\n(Housing Dept.)\nRecommendation: It is recommended that the City Council:\n(1) Find that the recommended action in the agenda report is exempt from the California\nEnvironmental Quality Act ("CEQA") pursuant to State CEQA Guidelines per Section 15061(b)(3), the\n“Common-Sense” exemption that CEQA only applies to projects that may have an effect on the\nenvironment; and\n(2) Authorize the City Manager to enter into a professional services contract, and to execute all related\ndocuments and amendments, with American Global Security Inc., for an amount not-to-exceed $237,500.\nProposed contract term is monthly for up to one (1) year. Contract is recommended as the result of a\ncompetitive selection process as specified by Section 4.08.047 of the Pasadena Municipal Code;\ncompetitive price bidding is not required pursuant to City Charter Section 1002(F) (contracts for professional\nor unique services).
