3. TRANSPORTATION PRESENTATIONS:\na. MOBILITY SURVEY RESULTS – F2M23-72\nOver the last several weeks, a mobility survey has been underway to help the City\nbetter ascertain mobility preferences and needs throughout Alhambra and\nopinions on how to shape local transportation. True North Research Inc.\nconducted the random survey, which results shall be presented to the City Council\nfor consideration as the City continues to evaluate and undertake transportation\nplanning, projects and programs. Approximately 600 interviews were conducted.\nb. ALHAMBRA COMMUNITY TRANSIT (ACT) BUS RIDERSHIP EXPANSION –\nF2M23-16\nThe City of Alhambra contracts the operation of the Alhambra Community Transit\n(ACT), a fixed route shuttle bus service that operates within the City limits. On\nJune 26, 2023, Martin Gombert from Mobility Advancement presented the initial\nresults of Route and Ridership Study. Based on the feedback received from the\nCity Council, Mr. Gombert will present options to increase ridership and provide\nservice to areas of Alhambra south of the 10 freeway.\nc. LOCAL ROADWAY SAFETY PROGRAM – F2M23-68\nThe City of Alhambra received a State grant from Caltrans to prepare a Local\nRoadway Safety Plan (LRSP). Darryl DePencier with Kimley-Horn will present how\nthe LRSP provides the City with a framework for systematic infrastructure\nimprovements to reduce or eliminate safety issues identified by the plan. Further,\nthe LRSP enables the City to apply for grant funding through the Highway Safety\nImprovement Program. The LRSP was prepared in conformance with Federal and\nState standards.\nd. BIKE AND PEDESTRIAN IMPROVEMENT PLAN: PROJECT UPDATE –\nF2M22-33\nOn October 10, 2023, staff and Alta Planning met with the City Council\nSubcommittee on the latest developments of the City’s Bike and Pedestrian\nImprovement Plan. The plan is near completion. Alta Planning will present a\nsummary of the project timeline; the proposed bicycle network, classifications and\nphasing options; pedestrian recommendations and treatments; discussion\nregarding demonstrations and pilots; programs and policies to undertake; plan\nimplementation cost estimates; and, next steps.\nRecommended Action: City Council receive and file these informational reports (a-\nd) and provide direction to staff as deemed appropriate.
