9E. ACCEPTANCE OF THE FAMILY RESOURCE CENTER RENOVATION PROJECT\n(PHASE I) BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF STANTON, CALIFORNIA\nThe Family Resource Center Renovation Project (Phase I) consisting of new exterior\nand interior lighting, new air conditioning units, wall and monument signage, painting of\nthe interior, new flooring, construction of a concrete walkway, new blinds, window tint,\nand ceiling tiles, new quartz countertop at the reception area, and re-laminating of\nexisting kitchen cabinet faces and doors is now complete. The final construction cost for\nthe project was $694,856.85. The City Engineer certifies that the work was completed\nas of October 15, 2023 and recommends that the City Council accept the completed\nwork performed on this project.\nOctober 24, 2023\nRECOMMENDED ACTION:\n1. City Council declare that this project is categorically exempt under the California\nEnvironmental Quality Act, Class 1, and Section 15301(a) as repair, maintenance,\nand minor alteration of an existing public facility; and\n2. Approve the final construction contract amount of $694,856.85 with A2Z Construct,\nInc.; and\n3. Direct the City Clerk within ten (10) days from the date of acceptance to file the\nNotice of Completion (Attachment) with the County Clerk-Recorder of the County of\nOrange; and\n4. Direct City staff, after thirty-five (35) days has elapsed from the filing of the “Notice of\nCompletion” with the County Clerk-Recorder, to make the retention payment to A2Z\nConstruct, Inc. in the amount of $34,742.84.
