7. California Office of Traffic Safety Selective Traffic Enforcement Program\n$70,000 Grant\nRecommendation -\n1. Authorize acceptance of a $70,000 Selective Traffic Enforcement\nProgram (STEP) grant award from the California Office of Traffic Safety\n(OTS) to support the El Segundo Police Department (ESPD). Best\npractice strategies will be conducted to reduce the number of persons\nkilled and injured in crashes involving alcohol and other primary crash\nfactors. The award is valid from October 1, 2023, to September 30, 2024.\n2. Authorize the City Manager to execute a contract, and other associated\ndocumentation to effectuate the use of grant funds, with OTS for $70,000\nfor the award period from October 1, 2023 to September 30, 2024.\n3. Appropriate OTS STEP grant revenues and expenditures for fiscal year\n2023-2024 and carry over the unspent balances to fiscal year 2024-2025.\n4. Alternatively, discuss and take other action related to this item.
