10. NOTICE OF COMPLETION: ALHAMBRA PARK RESTROOM PROJECT – F2M22-66,\nC2M23-9, M2M23-192\nOn February 13, 2023, the City Council awarded a contract to Sanz Construction Inc. for\nthe Alhambra Park Restroom Project in the amount of $342,930.00. There were two\nchange orders, the first in the amount of $37,330.00 was for multiple unforeseen issues\nwhich included: additional framing due to extensive termite damage, the installation of a\nwater line for floor drains, removal and disposal of extra concrete to gain ADA compliance,\nre-installation of electrical subpanel to meet Building Code requirements and the removal\nof existing security gates and installation of custom sliding security gates to gain ADA\ncompliance. The second change order in the amount of $8,617.61 was to replace an\nadjacent broken water fountain/water fill station. After change orders, the total amount of\nthe contract cost was $388,877.61. This project has been inspected by staff, and all work\nhas been completed in accordance with the City’s requirements and specifications. As\nsuch, it is appropriate for the City Council to accept this project as complete.\nRecommended Action: City Council accept the work of Sanz Construction Inc. for\nthe Alhambra Park Restroom Project as complete in the amount of $388,877.61; direct\nthe City Clerk to file a Notice of Completion with the County of Los Angeles for recordation;\ninstruct the Finance Director to release the 5 percent retention 35 days from the date of\nrecordation if no liens are filed; and, direct staff to undertake the steps necessary to finalize\nCouncil’s action.
