14. AWARD CONTRACT: PURCHASE OF TWO FULLY ELECTRIC FORD MACH E\nVEHICLES – F2M23-6A, C2M23-89, M2M23-195\n9\n11-13-23\nThe 2023-24 Fiscal Year budget includes AB 2766 funding for the purchase of two clean-\nair vehicles. Staff has located and solicited quotes for two fully electric Ford Mach E\nvehicles to replace older, less efficient, high mileage internal combustion vehicles.\nPursuant to the City Council’s authority under Alhambra Municipal Code Section\n3.36.080(E), the City Council may dispense with further procedures and enter into a\ncontract when it meets a specific purchase need. In this instance, staff solicited bids for\nthe vehicles. Puente Hills Ford has the vehicles in stock and submitted the lowest bid at\n$114,600. Therefore, staff recommends issuing a contract to Puente Hills Ford for the\npurchase of two 2023 Ford Mach E full electric vehicles.\nRecommended Action: City Council award a contract, subject to final language\napproval by the City Manager and City Attorney, to Puente Hills Ford for the purchase of\ntwo 2023 Ford Mach E fully electric vehicles in the amount of $114,600; direct the Finance\nDirector to appropriate funds from AB 2766 fund balance in the amount of $19,600; and,\ndirect staff to undertake the steps necessary to finalize Council’s action.
