4. NOTICE INVITING BIDS: INSTALLATION OF PEDESTRIAN COUNTDOWN SIGNAL\nHEAD SYSTEMS PROJECT AT VARIOUS INTERSECTIONS THROUGHOUT THE\nCITY (HSIP-5130(022)) – F2M23-73, N2M23-137\nStaff recently secured approval from the California Department of Transportation for the\nHSIP-5130(022) Install Pedestrian Countdown Signal Head Systems Project. The project\nconsists of installing countdown signal heads at various intersections throughout the City.\nThe project was submitted to the Department of Transportation under the Highway Safety\nImprovement Program Cycle 9. It was selected for funding in the amount of $876,000.\nPlans and specifications have been prepared for this project. Staff reviewed the plans;\nand found them to be in conformance with City standards. Once the Council authorizes\nthe distribution of the Notice Inviting Bids, it will be posted and advertised with the bid\nnotice and bid instructions.\nRecommended Action: City Council authorize the circulation of Notice Inviting Bids\n(NIB) for the Installation of Pedestrian Countdown Signal Head Systems Project at various\nintersections throughout the City (HSIP-5130(022)), with bids due no later than 10:30 a.m.\non January 4, 2024; and, direct staff to undertake the steps necessary to finalize Council’s\naction.\n5\n11-13-23
