6. AUTHORIZE RFP: PYROTECHNICS SERVICES FOR THE ALHAMBRA FOURTH OF\nJULY CELEBRATION – F2M23-75, RFP2M23-27\nThe City of Alhambra is seeking to establish a 3-year contract with a professional\npyrotechnic operator for the City’s Fourth of July Celebration. Although staff is seeking a\n3-year contract, the City of Alhambra will have the option to renew the pyrotechnic services\nafter each year, pursuant to satisfactory performance. At this time, staff recommends the\nCity Council authorize the circulation of a Request for Proposals for pyrotechnic services.\nThe Request for Proposals will be released on November 14, 2023.\nRecommended Action: City Council authorize staff to circulate a Request for\nProposals (RFP) to prospective operators to provide pyrotechnics services for the\nAlhambra 4th of July Celebration, with proposals due by 4:30 p.m. on November 27, 2023;\nand, direct staff to undertake the steps necessary to finalize Council’s action. It is\nrecommended the renewals be authorized by the City Manager or their Designee.
