LA County Board

A-1 Continue local emergencies as a result of the following: (a) Discovery of an\ninfestation of fruit flies, as proclaimed on May 10, 1990; (b) Conditions of\nextreme peril to the safety of persons and property arose as a result of the\nLake Fire that started in the unincorporated area of Lake Hughes on August\n12, 2020, as proclaimed on August 13, 2020 and ratified by the Board on\nAugust 18, 2020; (c) Conditions of extreme peril to the safety of persons\nand property arose as a result of the Bobcat Fire that ignited in the Angeles\nNational Forest on September 6, 2020 and rapidly spread to surrounding\nareas, as proclaimed on September 13, 2020 and ratified by the Board on\nSeptember 15, 2020; (d) An imminent threat to public health from the Lake\nFire and the Bobcat Fire that started on August 12, 2020 and September 6,\n2020, respectively, in Los Angeles County, as proclaimed by the Public\nHealth Officer on November 5, 2020 and ratified by the Board on November\n10, 2020; (e) Conditions of extreme peril to the safety of persons exist on\nthe basis of pervasive and pernicious homelessness in Los Angeles\nCounty, as proclaimed and ratified by the Board on January 10, 2023; (f)\nConditions of extreme peril to the safety of persons and property arose as a\nresult of severe winter storms beginning January 1, 2023 affecting areas\nthroughout Los Angeles County, as proclaimed on January 10, 2023 and\nratified by the Board on January 17, 2023; (g) Conditions of disaster or\nextreme peril to the safety of persons and property on the basis of the frigid\nwinter storms beginning February 23, 2023 affecting the areas throughout\nLos Angeles County, as proclaimed on March 1, 2023 and ratified by the\nBoard on March 7, 2023; and (h) Conditions of extreme peril to the safety of\npersons and property exist on the basis of the arrival, presence, and\nimpacts of Tropical Storm Hilary throughout Los Angeles County beginning\nAugust 20, 2023, as proclaimed on August 20, 2023 and ratified by the\nBoard on August 22, 2023.
