5. APPROVAL OF PURCHASE FOR FIRE DEPARTMENT SELF-CONTAINED\nBREATHING APPARATUS AND FILL STATION\nRecommendation: Staff recommends the Council waive competitive bidding and (1)\napprove the purchase of 3M Scott self-contained breathing apparatus from Allstar\nFire Equipment in the amount of $224,238.28; and (2) approve the purchase of a\nStallion Air Centaur fill station from L.N. Curtis in the amount of $82,686.39. If the\nCouncil concurs with staff’s recommendation, an appropriate motion would be:\n“I move to waive competitive bidding and (1) approve the purchase of 3M Scott self-\ncontained breathing apparatus from Allstar Fire Equipment in the amount of\n$224,238.28; and (2) approve the purchase of a Stallion Air Centaur fill station from\nL.N. Curtis in the amount of $82,686.39.”
