B. AGREEMENT WITH GRIZZLY ENTERTAINMENT FOR A DRONE SHOW FOR\nTHE 2024 INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION IN THE AMOUNT OF\n$45,000\nAt the October 3, 2023 City Council Meeting, staff presented an item on special\nevents, including options for the 2024 Independence Day Celebration. The\nCouncil indicated that they would like to have a drone show in place of a\nfireworks show. The total cost for the agreement with Grizzly Entertainment for\nthe quoted July 3rd drone show is $45,000. The budget in the general fund for\nthis Independence Day event is $50,250. While this does not include staffing\ncosts for all departments to work the event, the budget should be enough to\ncover the drone show and entertainment. Depending on the drone count that\nthe Council decides on, should additional funds be needed for the\nentertainment and/or auxiliary event costs, staff would ask for additional\nfunding at mid-year budget.\nCalifornia Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) Determination: Not a Project as\ndefined in Section 15378 of the State CEQA Guidelines.\nRecommended Action:\n1. Staff recommends that the Council approve a show with Grizzly\nEntertainment on Wednesday, July 3 for 350-400 drones, at a cost of\n$45,000 and discuss the options for location of the show.\n2. Staff also recommends that the Council authorize the City Manager to sign\nthe agreement with Grizzly Entertainment.
