F. RESOLUTION NO. 23-71 APPROVING PEDESTRIAN AND BICYCLE SAFETY\nPROGRAM – OFFICE OF TRAFFIC SAFETY GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF\n$55,000 FOR EDUCATION, MATERIAL, AND ILLUMINATED CROSSWALK\nAT THE INTERSECTION OF DEL MAR AVENUE AND LIVE OAK STREET AND\nRELATED BUDGET ADJUSTMENTS\nThe Police Department has received a grant from the Office of Traffic Safety to\nparticipate in the Pedestrian and Bicycle Safety Program for Federal Fiscal Year\n2023-2024. The grant will reimburse the City for personnel overtime costs\nincurred to participate in this campaign and for the purchase of related\nequipment in the sum of $55,000. There is no impact to the general fund with\nthe acceptance of the grant.\nCalifornia Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) Determination: Not a project as\ndefined in Section 15378 of the state CEQA Guidelines.\nRecommended Action:\nStaff recommends that the City Council adopt Resolution No. 23-71 approving\nand accepting the Office of Traffic Safety contract funding outlined in this Staff\nReport and increasing the revenue budget account #147-3229 by an estimated\n$55,000 to reflect receipt of the grant funds and increasing the Police\nDepartment expenditure budget by $55,000, in various accounts in Fund 147,\nthe Office of Traffic Safety Fund, which will be used for overtime costs and the\npurchase of any related equipment.
