Temporary Reinstatement of Retired County Employees\nRecommendation: Waive the 180-day break in service requirement and\nreinstate the following retired County employees: David Canas, to a 120-day\ntemporary assignment as a Deputy Public Defender II within the Department’s\nEast Region, Pasadena Branch Office and Laine Kontos, to a 120-day\ntemporary assignment as a Deputy Public Defender II within the Department’s\nNorth Region, Van Nuys Area Office; approve the request for David Canas to\nreceive compensation at the rate of $69.14 per hour, for up to 960 work hours\nwithin a fiscal year, upon Board approval of his temporary reinstatement as a\nDeputy Public Defender II; and approve the request for Laine Kontos to receive\ncompensation at the rate of $69.14 per hour, for up to 960 work hours within a\nfiscal year, upon Board approval of her temporary reinstatement as a Deputy\nPublic Defender II.
