Capping Fees for Third-Party Delivery Service Platforms in\nUnincorporated Communities\nRecommendation as submitted by Supervisors Solis: Instruct the Director of\nEconomic Opportunity, in consultation with County Counsel, to report back to\nthe Board in writing within 180 days with an ordinance to amend the County\nCode to remove the existing 20% cap on all fees charged to restaurants by food\ndelivery platforms, require that food delivery platforms offer basic delivery and\nlisting services at a rate of no more than 15% of the total amount of the food\norder, and allow food delivery platforms to charge for additional services based\non the needs of the restaurant owner if they also provide notice of this new 15%\noption for basic delivery and listing services.
