8. AWARD CONTRACT: PROFESIONAL CONSULTANT SERVICES FOR THE\nDEVELOPMENT OF THE STORY PARK IMPROVEMENT PROJECT – F2M22-37,\nRFP2M22-8, C2M24-4, M2M24-6\nOn March 28, 2022, the City Council authorized the circulation of a Request for Proposals\n(RFP) for the Story Park Improvement Project. The Project seeks to convert the vacant\npool space adjacent to the Joslyn Center into green space and replace the existing\nplayground at Story Park with an all-inclusive playground. On September 18, 2023, the\nRFP for the project was posted and circulated. A total of three proposals were received\nfrom qualified consulting firms. On December 13, 2023, an evaluation panel consisting of\n5\n1-8-24\nCity staff interviewed and rated the firms to determine how each met the essential\nrequirements outlined in the RFP, including compliance with RFP requirements, Project\nunderstanding and approach, experience, level of effort, schedule, and cost-effectiveness.\nAfter careful consideration, the evaluation panel determined that KFA Land Images\nLandscape Services best meets the City’s criteria and overall needs.\nRecommended Action: City Council award a contract, subject to final language\napproval by the City Manager and City Attorney, by and between the City of Alhambra and\nKFA Land Images Landscape Services for professional consultant services for the\nDevelopment of the Story Park Improvement Project in the amount of $236,193.00; and,\ndirect staff to undertake the steps necessary to finalize Council’s action.
