11. AUTHORIZING RESOLUTION TO APPROVE THE SUBMITTAL OF AN APPLICATION\nFOR THE WATERSMART SMALL-SCALE WATER EFFICIENCY GRANT PROGRAM\n– F2M24-18, R2M24-1\n6\n1-8-24\nThe United States Bureau of Reclamation’s WaterSMART Grant Program is accepting\napplications for small-scale water efficiency projects that seek to conserve and better\nmanage water supplies. Projects that are supported by an existing water management\nand conservation plan or other planning effort led by the applicant are prioritized. Staff\nhave identified a project to replace approximately 330 meters at various locations in the\nCity and purchase an online customer portal for a total cost of $200,000. The grant\nproposal includes $100,000 in Federal funding and $100,000 in non-Federal match. The\ngrant guidelines require an official resolution by the City Council which provides authority\nto proceed with the application of projects and receipt of grant funds pursuant to the\nBureau of Reclamation’s policies and procedures. If the project is selected for funding,\nstaff will return to the City Council for approval to solicit bids or proposals, appropriate\ngrant funds for the proposed projects, and issue notices of completion.\nRecommended Action: City Council adopt Resolution No. R2M24-1 entitled: A\nResolution of the City Council of the City of Alhambra, California approving the authority\nto file an application with the United States Bureau of Reclamation for the WaterSMART\nSmall-Scale Water Efficiency Grant Program; and, direct staff to undertake the steps\nnecessary to final Council’s action.
