14. First Reading of an Ordinance Amending El Segundo Municipal Code\nChapter 1-6 (Personnel Merit System) to Revise the Title of Recreation\nSuperintendent to Recreation Manager Under the List of Positions Exempt\nfrom the Civil Service System, Updated Classification Specifications and\nExamination Plans for Building Safety Manager and Recreation Manager,\nand Resolution to Establish the Basic Salary Range for the Recreation\nManager\nRecommendation -\n1. Introduce and waive the first reading of the proposed Ordinance\namending El Segundo Municipal Code ("ESMC") Chapter 1-6 to revise\nthe title of the Recreation Superintendent to Recreation Manager under\nthe list of positions exempt from the Civil Service System.\n2. Direct staff to schedule a second reading of the Ordinance for the regular\nFebruary 6, 2024 City Council meeting or as soon thereafter it may be\nconsidered.\n3. Adopt the updated classification specifications and examination plans for\nthe newly vacated Building Safety Manager and Recreation Manager\npositions included in ESMC Chapter 1-6 list of positions exempt from the\nCivil Service System.\n4. Adopt a Resolution establishing the basic salary range for the Recreation\nManager position.\n5. Alternatively, discuss and take other action related to this item.
