RESOLUTION NO.      - Award of three (3)-year Concession Agreement to Areas USA LAX LLC:  Covering management and operation of temporary food, beverage, and retail concessions in Terminal 4 at Los Angeles International Airport, for estimated revenue of $4,000,000 over the term \nPURPOSE: Staff request approval of the proposed temporary concession agreement to provide food, beverage, and retail services in areas of Terminal 4 at Los Angeles International Airport that will have no concessions services due to the terminal renovation project. The short-term agreement will provide necessary amenities to airport guests and is expected to generate $4,000,000 in revenue for Los Angeles World Airports over the three (3)-year term. \nRECOMMENDATIONS: Adoption of the Report requesting that the Board of Airport Commissioners determine that this action is exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) pursuant to Article III, Class 1 (18)(c) of the Los Angeles City CEQA Guidelines; find that the work can be performed more economically or feasibly by an independent contractor than by City employees; further find that Areas USA LAX LLC is responsive and responsible, and that entering into the Agreement is in the best interest of the City; approve Award of Concession Agreement to Areas USA LAX LLC; and authorize the Interim Chief Executive Officer, or designee, to execute said Concession Agreement after approval as to form by the City Attorney.
