7. AWARD CONTRACT & APPROPRIATE FUNDS: PYROTECHNICS SERVICES FOR\nTHE ALHAMBRA FOURTH OF JULY CELEBRATION – F2M23-75, RFP2M23-27,\nC2M24-6, M2M24-12\nOn November 13, 2023, the City Council approved the distribution of a Request for\nProposals (RFP) for Pyrotechnics Services for the Alhambra 4th of July Celebration. On\nNovember 27, 2023, the Parks & Recreation Department received one proposal in\nresponse to the RFP. The 3-year proposal received was $120,000 (2024 for $40,000,\n2025 for $40,000 and 2026 for $40,000). An expenditure in the amount of $20,000 for the\n2024 fireworks show must be approved for the City to enter into a contract with Garden\nState Fireworks, Inc. The total expenditure will be charged to multiple fiscal years.\nRecommended Action: City Council award a contract, subject to final language\napproval by the City Manager and City Attorney, to Garden State Fireworks, Inc. in an\namount not to exceed $40,000 in 2024, $40,000 in 2025 and $40,000 in 2026 for the\nannual 4th of July Celebration; instruct the Director of Finance to pay 50% of this year’s\ncosts ($20,000 for 2024) in FY 2023-24 and pay the remainder of the $40,000 as an\nexpenditure in FY 2024-25 in account number 101.60.6110.66314; and, direct staff to\nundertake the steps necessary to finalize Council’s action.
