c. FIRST AMENDMENT TO THE GENERAL SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH\nD&H WATER SYSTEMS FOR THE INSTALLATION OF A DISINFECTION\nSTATION AT TEMPLE RESERVOIR\nSummary:\nThe City Council will consider amending a General Services Agreement with\nD&H Water Systems, increasing the agreement amount from $171,890 to\n$272,500 and extending the project completion date to November 30, 2024.\nThis amendment results from the expanded scope of work following additional\nplan check comments, permit amendment conditions, and a Sanitary Survey\nconducted by the State Water Resources Control Board’s Division of Drinking\nWater. Approval of this amendment would facilitate the effective implementation\nof the required disinfection system at Temple Reservoir.\nStrategic Plan Goal(s):\nGoal No. 4 Infrastructure: Maintain and improve the City’s physical\ninfrastructure, water system, and recreational spaces.\nGoal No. 5 High Functioning Government: Strengthen internal communication,\nrecruitment, retention, systems, and processes to increase the\neffectiveness and efficiency of City services.\nRecommendations:\n1. Authorize the City Manager to execute the first amendment to a General\nServices Agreement with D&H Water Systems for the construction of a\nDisinfection Station at Temple Reservoir thereby increasing the\ncompensation by $100,610 for a total not-to-exceed contract amount of\n$272,500, in a form approved by the City Attorney.\n2. Authorize the Director of Public Works to utilize a project contingency of\nup to 10% ($27,250) to accommodate additional scope of work in the\nevent of changed or unforeseen conditions, for a total construction budget\nof $299,750.\n3. Adopt a resolution entitled:\nA RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SIGNAL\nHILL, CALIFORNIA AMENDING THE ADOPTED BUDGET AND\nAUTHORIZING BUDGET APPROPRIATIONS FOR FISCAL YEAR\n2023-24
