5.A. SKY SANCTUARIES: SAN VICENTE\nSTREETSCAPE PLAZA UPDATE [J.\nROCCO, R. ABRAMSON, G. YOLLES]:\nThe City Council will receive an update on the\nrevised design, updated budget range\nprojections, and potential funding\nopportunities and provide direction regarding\nfurther developing a new environmentally\ninspired community gathering space on San\nVicente Boulevard north of Melrose Avenue\nand south of Santa Monica Boulevard.\nRECOMMENDATIONS: 1) Receive an update\non the community engagement process and\nupdated Sky Sanctuaries: San Vicente\nStreetscape Plaza concept design; 2) Receive\nupdates on latest funding opportunities and\ndirect staff to pursue local, State, and Federal\ngrants or other public-private partnerships to\noffset various costs for the design and\nconstruction of the streetscape plaza; 3)\nDirect staff to proceed with pursuing grant\nassistance for technical studies that would be\na pre-requisite to applying for project grants or\nother forms of funding; and 4) Authorize the\nCity Manager to evaluate and apply for\nappropriate grants as they arise..
