INTRODUCTION FOR FIRST READING BY TITLE ONLY AN ORDINANCE\nAMENDING LYNWOOD'S MUNICIPAL CODE SETTIG A MIMINUM WAGE OF\nTWENTY-FIVE ($25.00) PER HOUR FOR QUALIFYING HEALTHCARE WORKERS\nWORKING IN THE CITY OF LYNWOOD\nComments:\nA citizens group of Lynwood residents (proponents) previously prepared a Notice of Intent to\ncirculate an initative petition seeking to qualify a Healthcare Workers Minimum Wage Ordinance\nin Lynwood. The proponents failed to gather the necessary signatures to advance the measure to\nthe foregoing election. However, the proponents and their advocates have presented several\ntimes to the City Council their position and continued desire to seek such ordinance. Additionally,\nstaff has met with the proponents to gather additional information. Consequently, this item is on\nthis agenda for consideration or further direction. (CM)\nRecommendation:\nIntroduce for first reading by title only the attached ordinances entitled, "AN ORDINANCE OF\nTHE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD AMENDING CHAPTER XX,\nSUBSECTION XX OF THE LYNWOOD MUNICIPAL CODE, AMENDING LYNWOOD'S\nMUNICIPAL CODE SETTING A MINIMUM WAGE OF TWENTY-FIVE ($25.00) PER HOUR\nFOR QUALIFYING HEALTHCARE EMPLOYEES WORKING IN THE CITY OF LYNOOD,"\nand consider proposed changes provided by labor to facilitate implementation process.
