4. AUTHORIZE RFP: WATER QUALITY TESTING LABORATORY SERVICES – F2M21-\n29, RFP2M24-2\nThe City of Alhambra, as the operator of a community water system, is required by the\nState Water Resources Control Board (SWRCB) to conduct a variety of sampling and\nanalytical analyses for drinking water. The City is also required to perform analyses for\nvarious constituents in accordance with several permits issued by the Los Angeles County\nSanitation District and Regional Water Quality Control Board. All tests must be performed\nin a certified laboratory which meets State standards. City staff has elected not to approve\nthe final one-year contract extension of the existing contract due to unsatisfactory service.\nThe Request for Proposals (RFP) would provide a one-year contract for Fiscal Year 2024-\n2025 with the option to renew for three one-year terms, if services are satisfactory.\nRecommended Action: City Council approve the distribution of a Request for\nProposals (RFP) to qualified firms for Water Quality Testing Laboratory Services, with\nproposals due no later than 4:00 p.m. on March 14, 2024.
