17. NOTICE INVITING BIDS: FIRE DEPARTMENT STATION 72 ROOFING PROJECT –\nF2M24-24, N2M24-23\n9\n2-12-24\nThe Fire Department Station 72 is a 24-hour fire and safety response facility located at\n1215 S. 6th Street. The building contains offices, living quarters, locker rooms, lunch and\nrestroom facilities and storage for firefighting apparatus, personal protective equipment,\nfire hoses and other specialized equipment for Fire Department staff. The building and\nhas remained largely unchanged since its original construction. The roof requires\nreplacement to maintain the building’s integrity and prevent further intrusion of the\nelements. The project bids are due no later than 10:30 a.m. on March 28, 2024, in the\noffice of the City Clerk, and will be opened at 11:00 a.m. that same day.\nRecommended Action: City Council authorize staff to circulate a Notice Inviting Bids\nto prospective contractors for the Fire Department Station 72 Roofing Project; and, direct\nstaff to undertake the steps necessary to finalize Council’s action.
