18. RESOLUTION APPROVING REVISED CLASS SPECIFICATIONS FOR FIRE\nPROTECTION SPECIALIST AND EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT – F2M24-2, R2M24-4\nOperationally, opportunities arise that require City staff to review existing class\nspecifications to ensure standards and requirements for positions are valid and current.\nIn a recent review, City staff identified two classifications, Fire Protection Specialist and\nExecutive Assistant, that require amendments and updates to required education based\non updated standards and State course offerings for Fire Protection Specialist, and\nremoval of the requirement for a typing certificate and instead including updated language\npertaining to typing skills sections of the Executive Assistant class specification.\nFurthermore, City staff has reviewed these revisions with the Alhambra City Employees’\nAssociation (ACEA) and they have agreed to the updates and revisions proposed for the\nclass specifications. A Resolution approving the amended and revised class specifications\nis required.\nRecommended Action: City Council adopt Resolution No. R2M24-4 entitled: A\nResolution of the Alhambra City Council approving a revised Class Specification for Fire\nProtection Specialist and Executive Assistant
