9. NOTICE OF COMPLETION: ALMANSOR COURT EXTERIOR IMPROVEMENT\nPROJECT – F2M23-41, C2M23-46, M2M24-20\nOn June 26, 2023, the City Council awarded a contract to Tom’s Construction in the\namount $299,215 for the Almansor Court Exterior Improvement Project. There was one\nchange order to the project. The change order included: painting of the banquet hall's\nmetal/plastic rear glass section, repairing rusted metal gates, replacing broken roof tile,\npainting metal bollards; and, removing and repouring concrete in the path of travel areas.\nThe change order totaled $47,500, which brings the contract to $346,715. Staff has\ninspected this project, and all work has been completed in accordance with the City’s\nrequirements and specifications. As such, it would be appropriate for the City Council to\naccept this project as complete.\nRecommended Action: City Council accept the work of Tom’s Construction for the\nAlmansor Court Exterior Improvements Project as complete in the amount of $346,715;\ndirect the City Clerk to file a Notice of Completion with the County of Los Angeles for\nrecordation; instruct the Finance Director to release the 5 percent retention 35 days from\nthe date of recordation if no liens are filed; and, direct staff to undertake the steps\nnecessary to finalize Council’s action.
