8. ACCEPTANCE OF A GRANT AND AUTHORIZATION TO CIRCULATE A NOTICE\nINVITING BIDS FOR THE ALHAMBRA PARK BANDSHELL IMPROVEMENT\nPROJECT – F2M24-18, F2M24-22, N2M24-18, M2M24-19\nOn November 8, 2021, the City Council adopted Resolution No. R2M21-46 which enabled\nstaff to apply for grants funded under Measure A annual allocation. Subsequently, on\nDecember 11, 2023, staff submitted an application for $110,200 in grant funding for the\nAlhambra Park Bandshell Improvement Project. On January 16, 2024, the application was\napproved, and the fully executed grant agreement was issued on January 22, 2024.\nSpecifications and bid documentation have been prepared for the Alhambra Park\nBandshell Improvement Project. The project includes the repainting of the bandshell and\nstage areas and installation of new fencing around the stage. Staff is seeking to solicit\nbids from prospective contractors for the project.\nRecommended Action: City Council accept a grant in the amount of $110,200 from\nthe Los Angeles County Regional Park and Open Space District (RPOSD) under the\nMeasure A Annual Allocation Grant Program; appropriate revenue and expenditure funds;\nauthorize the City Manager, or designee, to execute all documents related to grant\nimplementation; authorize staff to circulate a Notice Inviting Bids to prospective\ncontractors for the Alhambra Park Bandshell Improvement Project; and direct staff to\nundertake the steps necessary to finalize the Council’s action.
